SMS / Text Messaging & Mobile Information
Information we collect. When you provide a mobile phone number during class registration, waitlist sign-up, lead capture, referral, checkout, account creation, or through direct communication with our team, we collect your mobile number, your SMS opt-in status and timestamp, the source of the opt-in (page or form), and records of messages sent and received (including delivery status and, where applicable, message content).
How we use it. We use your mobile number and SMS consent to send transactional and service messages such as class confirmations, reminders, schedule/location/weather changes, instructor coordination, payment links, waitlist promotions, feedback requests, certification/eCard delivery, account and security notifications, and — only where separately opted in — occasional marketing or promotional messages.
How you consent. You opt in by checking an SMS consent box on our Site, providing your number to our staff/instructors for class communications, or texting a keyword to our number. Consent to receive SMS is never a condition of purchase.
Opt-out. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message from us or by texting STOP to 571.500.6954. For help, reply HELP or contact classes@nwli.org. Message and data rates may apply; message frequency varies.
No sharing of mobile opt-in data. Mobile information (including phone numbers, SMS opt-in status, and consent records) will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share mobile information only with service providers that help us operate the SMS program (for example, our messaging platform Twilio and our email delivery provider), and only to the extent needed to deliver the messages you have requested. All other categories of personal information may be shared as described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy, but text messaging originator opt‑in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Retention. We retain mobile numbers and SMS consent records for as long as your account or class history is active, and as needed to comply with legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations. You may request deletion by contacting classes@nwli.org.
